Since the preparation of this section
Hanisch et al. (
2001), all members of the three world wide
FITS committees, have published a paper which envelopes all current
FITS material and
aims to outline, clarify and improve the
FITS standard. Therefore this section has
been greatly reduced in content and the reader is directed to the aforementioned
paper.
